How to use Self Lighting CHARCOAL

  • They can be used to burn incense resins, powdered herbal blends, dried loose herbs and non self burning smudge wands.

  • The charcoal burns evenly and stay lit. 

  • Remove a disc from the sealed roll and place it in a heat proof container. (preferably an incenser). At the base of your container, place a small piece of aluminium foil , place the non active Charcoal Briquette on top.

  • if you choose a METAL incenser, be careful the Metal will get very hot while the charcoal is burning, you can place a cork heat pad under your dish to prevent the heat penetrating onto another surface - ie table

  • Simply ignite the edge of the disc with a lighter (a long BBQ lighter works best) , give it a few seconds while the disc lights and sparks across.

  • The disc will release smoke for a few seconds and the edges will start to turn greyish white. You may also gently blow onto the briquette to speed up the burning process. - (ignite your charcoal outside or in a well ventilated area)

  • Place your resin incense, loose herbs , sweet spices or the end of your smudge wand on top of the lit charcoal.

  • The smoky aroma of the herbs, spices or resins will be released.

  • Avoid over loading or completely covering the disk briquette while it is self igniting .

SMUDGE WAND on CHARCOAL

  • On days of high humidity especially on rainy days, your smudge wand may not burn as well as it would on dry humid free days.

  • Self lighting charcoal disks are not just for burning incense resins , spices or loose herbs. Place the tip of your smudge wand onto the burning disk.

  • A quick and super easy method .. keeps your smudge wand burning on its own as you attend to your space clearing, meditation , ritual practices or healings.

ASH DISPOSAL

  • The disc can be left to burn out on your dish and allow it to cool down as it breaks down into ash. Otherwise safely extinguish the burning disc into a bucket of cold water or bury the remaining ashes into your garden soil.

  • In order to maintain freshness, opened rolls should be resealed (into a zip lock bag) and stored in a cool dry place. Effective storage will ensure quick lighting and long burning time.

  • DO NOT HOLD THE CHARCOAL IN YOUR HAND WHEN LIGHTNING OR BURNING. (it will burn your skin)

  • DO NOT PLACE a BURNING BRIQUETTE IN YOUR WASTE BIN. , (it may cause a fire)

  • KEEP CHILDREN & PETS AWAY FROM BURNING BRIQUETTE

  • NEVER LEAVE A BURNING BRIQUETTE UNATTENDED

  • IGNITE YOUR BRIQUETTE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA.

  • DO NOT USE OUTDOORS WITH WINDY CONDITIONS

  • DO NOT USE OUTDOORS WITH TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 28.C DEGREES
